Meet Jason Dicken
Officiant, celebrant and Evansville-area resident. I help people mark the moments that matter most, with words that are honest, warm and entirely their own.

Why I do this
I became an officiant because I kept watching good people get ceremonies that did not fit them. Couples standing through scripts that could have been about anyone. Families sitting through funerals led by someone who had never met their person. Friends from the LGBTQ+ community told, politely or not, that they would need to look elsewhere.
It does not have to be this way. A ceremony is one of the few moments in life when everyone you love is in the same room, paying attention. It deserves care, craft and someone who is genuinely glad to be there.
[Add two or three sentences about your background: how long you have been officiating, how you were ordained or licensed, what you did before, and what ties you to Evansville. Specific, personal details build trust and help Google connect you to local searches.]
When I am not writing ceremonies, you can find me [a hobby, a favorite Evansville spot, a pet]. I live in Evansville with [family, partner, pets, or leave this out].
The values behind every ceremony
- Everyone belongs
Every couple and every family, without exception. LGBTQ+ people, interfaith families, people of no faith, and people whose families are complicated. You are welcome exactly as you are.
- Listen first
The best ceremony is the one that sounds like you. I cannot write that without listening, so that is where everything starts.
- Craft matters
Words are my tools. I take the writing seriously, revise until it is right, and deliver it with a voice that carries without shouting.
- Calm under pressure
Weather changes, rings go missing, relatives show up late. I stay steady so you do not have to.
Licensed, trained and insured
- Ordained and legally authorized to solemnize marriages in Indiana and Kentucky
- [Celebrant or officiant training, e.g. a certification program]
- [Relevant background: hospice volunteering, chaplaincy, ministry, public speaking]
- [Number of ceremonies performed or years in practice]
- Member of [local chamber, wedding association or LGBTQ+ business group]
Rooted in Evansville
I have performed ceremonies in church sanctuaries and brewery taprooms, at the riverfront, in backyards, in hospital rooms and in cemeteries across the Tri-State. I know the venues, the funeral homes, the clerks' offices and the vendors, and I am happy to make introductions.
I also support the LGBTQ+ community here in Southwestern Indiana, where a visibly welcoming officiant still makes a real difference. [Mention any Pride events, nonprofits or community organizations you are involved with.]
Let's talk about your ceremony
Whether you are planning a wedding, grieving a loss or preparing for one, I would be honored to help.
