Ceremonies for every love and every life.
River City Ceremonies is Jason Dicken, a wedding, funeral and end-of-life officiant in Evansville, Indiana. Non-denominational, LGBTQ+ affirming, and genuinely glad to be there.
A steady, warm voice for the biggest days of your life
Some ceremonies are joyful. Some are heartbreaking. Many are both at once.
Whatever brings you here, my job is the same: listen closely, write something true, and stand beside you so the moment feels held rather than rushed. I perform legal weddings anywhere in Indiana and across the river in Kentucky, and I lead funerals, memorials and end-of-life ceremonies for families who want something personal, whether that is rooted in faith, free of religion, or somewhere in between.
Whoever you love, however you identify, whatever you believe or don't believe, you are welcome here. That is not a footnote. It is the reason this exists.

End-of-Life Ceremonies

End-of-lifeProudly affirming the LGBTQ+ community in Evansville and the Tri-State
Finding an officiant should never mean wondering whether you will be welcomed. Affirming means getting names and pronouns right every time, writing language that fits your relationship, and handling family with discretion and care.
Simple from the first call to the final word
We talk
A relaxed conversation by phone, video or over coffee. You tell me about yourselves or your loved one. I listen, ask questions and answer yours.
I write
I draft a ceremony built from what you shared, then send it to you. Change anything. Nothing is read aloud that you have not approved.
We gather
I arrive early, coordinate with your venue, funeral home or hospice team, and lead the ceremony with warmth and a steady hand.
Every couple deserves to hear their own story told out loud. Every family deserves to hear their person remembered as who they truly were.Jason Dicken
